The HRD minister, who was in Bareilly at an event organised by Akhil Bharatiya Brahmin Mahasabha, told that it is true that there is a huge shortage of teachers in IndIa. It happened due to a long backlog of posts lying vacant over the years. They are working to appoint more faculty members soon. The ministry has identified that there is a need for nearly 10 lakh teachers across the country in both higher educational institutions and schools.
Citing about the revamp of education policy, the minister said that the education policy of the country is not properly implemented as it was first made in 1962. Only it was revised in 1976.
