- After a long speculation and confusion, CBSE declared Class 12 results on May 28, 2017.
HRD Minister, Prakash Javadekar made a surprising statement that the HRD Ministry will not intervene in the ongoing moderation policy issue. However, he indicated that any change with regard to the moderation policy must not be implemented in the middle of the academic session. He further clarified that it is the responsibility of state education boards and CBSE to take a decision on it.
Initially, CBSE scrapped the moderation policy that was supposed to come into effect this year. However, CBSE rolled back the decision following the orders of High Court of Delhi. The court directed the board to continue with moderation policy. CBSE planned to challenge the order of Delhi HC in Supreme Court. However, CBSE did not do so, as it could have led to a delay in Class 12 results.
