Hyderabad University (UoH) Launches MOOC Course on Public Policy
The University of Hyderabad in partnership with the Central University of Rajasthan has designed a new MOOC course on Public Policy. The course has been aimed towards bureaucrats, teachers, students who wish to learn more on Public Policy and the course will be free of cost.
Under its Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC), the University of Hyderabad has launched a new course by the name of “Public Policy: An Introduction” on the 15th of August 2019. The University of Hyderabad has worked together with the Central University of Rajasthan (CURAJ) to ensure that the course has been perfectly designed for the students. This course on Public Policy will also be offered free of cost to the learners.
While designing the course, the University of Hyderabad and the Central University of Rajasthan kept in mind the target audience.The target audience for the course does not only include students but also teachers, government officials as well as all those who are currently employed with different NGOs and corporate companies. The major goal of the course is to get accustomed to the basic and critical concepts as well as theories on Public Policy.

A leading news agency has stated that the course will be under the supervision of Prof I Ramabrahmam, a senior faculty from the Department of Political Science. Prof Ramabrahmam stated that it was with the technical support that they received from N Parameswaran who is a senior consultant from the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Speaking to the media, the Vice-Chancellor of Prof Appa Rao P that he aims to promote the course, across all the Universities and colleges in India. In his words, he stated that the introduction of the course is a method to “bridge the digital divide in learning”. Prof Ramabrahmam stated that the need to introduce the course came after the country had been witnessing a rise in the discipline across other countries. He added that the course will be key in promoting and meeting the rising demands for understanding and learning about Public Policy.
