ICAI or the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, which is the body that conducts the professional chartered accountant examination across India has recently announced they will be holding this year’s examinations from May 2019 onwards. The ICAI has said 30 percent of marks will be for the multiple choice questions which will come from the ICAI Intermediate (IPC and New) and Final (New and Old) papers.

A new notification is issued by ICAI which has made clear that the question papers of CA 2019 examination will be divided into 2 parts. Part 1 and 2. The Par 1 will comprise 30% of the MCQ marks combining the questions valued for 1 and 2 marks each. The second part will have descriptive type questions which will carry 70% of marks in each paper.

For answering the MCQ type questions in the first part, candidates will be issued an OMR sheet in which they will have to darken the circle of the right answers with a black HB Pencil. It will be mandatory to complete the OMR sheet filling first and then move on to the descriptive questions, for which a different answer sheet will be issued.

The ICAI has also made clear that the question paper will be distributed from 1:45 pm and candidates are allowed to reach a maximum by 2:15 pm. The rule is applicable for all the papers. The exams of CA 2019 will be concluded by 5:00 pm.
