ICAI to Organise International Conference in Hyderabad
Around 3,500 delegates from five regional centres, 154 branches and 28 chapters abroad will be involved in the conference.
The Institute of Charted Accountants of India (ICAI) is going to organise a two-day international conference on ‘Jnana-Yajna – The Quest for Excellence’ on October 22 & 23, 2016 at HICC in Hyderabad. The conference will be inaugurated by Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu. Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Arjun Meghwal will also participate in the conference.

President of ICAI, Deveraja Reddy revealed that the International Conference is going to take place in Hyderabad for the first time. Around 3,500 delegates from five regional centres, 154 branches and 28 chapters abroad will be involved in the conference. The primary objective of the conference is to hold discussions on various issues including paperless auditing, GST, code of conduct, transferring price and building competitiveness for small firms and enhancing trust in CAs.
He also clarified that a committee which has been constituted for the revision of CA syllabus submitted the report and Prime Minister of India will launch the new syllabus in the month of November.
He stated that ICAI is producing CAs for global requirements. Currently, 2.6 lakh CAs are practising and the demand for them is expected to increase to 10 lakh by 2020. Every year, 30,000 CAs are trained in India, and most of them are working abroad in Gulf and African countries.
