ICSE Geography Exam 2024 Most Important Topics: CISCE will conduct ICSE Geography examination on February 28, 2024. With limited preparation time, candidates should prioritize studying important topics first before moving on to less crucial ones. Interestingly, each chapter in the syllabus carries the same weightage of 10 marks in the examination.

The exam consists of two main parts. Part A, which offers no choice, includes 10 questions each on topography, map work, and multiple-choice questions. On the other hand, Part B comprises 9 questions, each with a weightage of 10 marks, with candidates required to answer 5. While candidates need to cover the entire syllabus for Part A, they can focus on studying 5 chapters in detail for Part B to get better scores in the examination. For strategic preparation, candidates can allocate more time to easier and higher-scoring chapters. This will help in better retention of topics, and more efficient studying.

Since the importance level is the same for all topics within ICSE Geography 2024 syllabus, the names of the highest-scoring chapters have been provided here:  

  • Natural Vegetation

  • Water Resources

  • Soils in India

  • Transport

  • Waste Management

Candidates must prepare these chapters as they are easy, scoring, and is not lengthy or detailed like other chapters. However, it is advised that apart from this, candidates must also study the other chapters to be able to attend Part A and get optimum scores out of 30. To make it easier and less stressful, candidates can solve the previous year’s question paper. Solving them will not only help candidates get well-versed with the syllabus but they will also be familiar with the kind of questions asked in the test, and the important questions that often get repeated.
