ICSI Introduces CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET)
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has updated its curriculum by introducing the CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) in place of foundation program.
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has made some changes in the CS curriculum including discontinuing the CS Foundation Programme. The foundation Program of CS is no longer part of the curriculum. Candidates will now have to appear for the CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) to register for the Executive Programme.
The reason behind introducing the CSEET in place of Foundation Course is to make sure that the students have the required level of skills and aptitude for the CS Program. It will also ensure that the candidates become successful specialists to meet the stakeholders' expectations. According to ICSI, candidates who have cleared 12th are eligible to appear for the CSEET entrance exam. Besides this, those who have qualified the ICMAI and ICAI program will be exempted from qualifying the CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET).

The exam will be conducted online (Computer Based) and will comprise of questions from Paper 1 (Business Communication), Paper 3 (Economic and Business Environment), Paper 2 (Legal Aptitude & Logical Reasoning) and Paper 4 (Presentation, Current Affairs and Communication Skills).
The first CSEET will take place in May and subsequent tests will take place in July, November and January. Candidates will have to obtain 50% marks in total and 40% in each of the paper to get qualified. Until now, 10 + 2 students wishing to take the CS course had to enrol in the Foundation program and qualify it to get eligible for the Executive programme.

Applicants who registered for the CS course after graduation had to clear only two phases of Company Secretaryship, which are Professional and Executive.
