The institute was facing hardships due to the shortage of teachers but suddenly it appointed 54 guest faculties in a week. Now the strength of teachers has increased to 112. Previously the institute had the strength of 58 teachers.
Problems faced by the institute are:
- Shortage of staff
- Hostel is not up to the mark
- Quality of education is allegedly poor
- Approach road to institute is in bad shape
The Director of the institute said that the existing problem wouldn’t affect the grade of IEHE much as the team is coming for evaluation of IEHE from the academic year 2010-11 to 2014-15.

While mentioning about the approaching road the Director said that they have written to the Public Works Department (PWD) of the state government many times but no action has been taken.
It is to be noted that a number of guest faculty applicants demanded fair selection of teachers in the physics and electronics departments, in front of the Institute's director office.
Some of the demonstrators alleged that the administration of the institute had adopted a biased approach on the appointment of teachers of electronics in the department of physics. Appointments of seven teachers are still in question, that further needs to be cleared.
