The campus placements at the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Lucknow, for 2015/16 have been the best in the last five years. IET is a government-aided constituent college of APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University.
In the three month long placement drive starting from December 2015-end, there were recruitment of 211 engineering students. There were 560 students in final year batch, of whom 403 students were allowed to appear for campus placement. Students who secured average 60% or more in all the semesters were only allowed to appear for campus placement.
In 2009-10 there were only 95 campus placements, while 96 were placed in 2013-14 96 and 165 in 2014-15. 'IET's training and placement cell is expecting more companies to visit the campus by mid July.
Out of 211, the maximum offers (45) went to computer science students followed by electronics and communictaion engineering (32). Top recruiters were TCS, Wipro, Wipro, Anglo Eastern, and Lava among others, he added.
Only five MBA students have received job offers so far. MBA placement rate rose from 19% in 2013-14 to 44% in 2014-15.
