IGNOU Addresses Students through Gyan Vani FM Radio Amid Coronavirus Lockdown
The university has taken up the help of Information Technology with the aim that the students should face no hindrance while going through the lockdown in terms of education. The university is broadcasting with the help of Gyan Vani and Gyandhara from 8 AM to 8 PM.
During this lockdown period, IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) is reaching out to the students through the Gyan Vani FM Radio. The university has taken up the help of Information Technology with the aim that the students should face no hindrance while going through the lockdown in terms of education. The university is broadcasting with the help of Gyan Vani and Gyandhara from 8 AM to 8 PM which is operated through the web due to the lockdown.

The Gyan Vani FM radio was started by IGNOU as an educational radio channel to be broadcasted among different cities and states. Through the FM radio, the students can listen to the educational information being broadcasted and can also ask their queries and put up suggestions in the meantime through the chats. On the other hand, Gyandhara is the internet audio counselling which was started by IGNOU itself as an online service.

The Gyan Vani conducts for a total of 12 hours broadcast among which the teachers provide lectures form 11 AM to 1 PM. During this time, the students can freely ask their queries through directly interacting with the teacher and by calling on to the toll-free number 800112347, 01129533103, 29533581.
As per the statement given by Manoj Kumar SIng, the station manager of Gyan Vani FM radio, the FM would also broadcast a Coronavirus program through the radio from 4 PM to 5 PM during which the students can ask their queries related to the virus from the experts.
