The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU’s) School of Vocational Education and Training (SOVET) has announced a new Diploma in Modern Office Practice (DMOP). The three-year diploma program constitutes of combined conventional practices of Secretaries including Office Assistant’s job with computer-aided management skills.
In the modern office environment, the role of Office Assistants and the Secretaries is very versatile. They must possess good organisation and communication apart from some other skills including tax regulation, good letter writing and effective documentation.
As the standards of the office environment have increased over the last years, the demand for the multitalented office assistants and multi secretaries has also increased. The program will generate skilled and competent staff in any employment sector at the entry-level.

Diploma in Modern Office Practice Eligibility Criteria
Candidates need to pass 12th in order to apply for this diploma program. The medium of instruction for the program will be English.
Diploma in Modern Office Practice Course Duration
The program will range from one year to three years of duration. It will be offered both in the January and July admission cycle.
Diploma in Modern Office Practice Fee
Candidates going for the program will have to submit an amount of Rs. 6000 as the application fee.
Diploma in Modern Office Practice Course Structure
The diploma in Modern Office Practice (DMOP) includes five courses. Around 60 per cent of the Self Learning Material (SLM) will be delivered in the form of soft copies while the remaining 40 per cent will be delivered in the form of printed copy/ hard copy. The soft copies can be accessed via email and e-Gyan Kosh.

The Diploma in Modern Office Practice (DMOP) programme will provide the training of workforce for the positions of Personal Assistant, Office Managers, Office Executives, Private Secretary, Data Entry Operators, Computer Operators, Stenographers, Executive Assistants, Front End Executives, Self Employment.
