IIHM Celebrates 3rd International Hospitality Day
- All the seven campuses of IIHM across the country celebrated International Hospitality Day on April 24, 2018.
- It is a unique initiative for celebrating, recognising, educating and promoting the best of hospitality.
International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) has celebrated 3rd International Hospitality Day on April 24, 2018, in collaboration with International Hospitality Council (IHC), London. On this occasion, IHC conferred the ‘Best Hospitality Personality Award 2018’. Founder and CEO of Oyo Rooms, Mr. Ritesh Agarwal received the ‘Best Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2018’. This year, the celebrations took place at Delhi.
Director of IIHM Delhi, Mr. Abdullah Ahmed, pointed that there is a massive need to work a lot with the students of today. There is a huge investment that needs to go with the time. Even though it is a time taking process, it does not matter as the industry must be groomed. Today, there is a huge expectation from the industry and from the guests so that people who are being trained must be brought to that level. IIHM has always been playing a vital role in giving an outstanding commitment to the industry, he highlighted.

IHC Chairperson, Professor David Foskett indicated that the industry has to learn from one another, from each country – traditions, cultures and understanding irrespective of colour, class and religion. Hospitality means promoting humanity, he quoted.
During the 3rd International Hospitality Day celebrations, hospitality brands like Radisson Hotels, The Park New Delhi, IHG Hotels, Accor Group of Hotels, The Lalit Group, Roseate Hotels and Resorts, ITC Hotels, Leela Palace New Delhi and many other top chains in the industry, identified one dedicated and hardworking staff for his/ her outstanding service in the hospitality industry in keeping with principle of ‘Service with a Smile’.

A panel discussion on the topic ‘Gen X and Gen Y’ was also conducted as a part of the event. Industry stalwarts across the country took part in the panel discussion.
Chief Mentor of IIHM, Dr. Suborno Bose instituted the International Hospital Day on April 24, 2016, in association with IHC London. It is a unique initiative for celebrating, recognising, educating and promoting the best of hospitality. At present, world’s premier hospitality institutes across 50 countries celebrate International Hospitality Day to recognise the hospitality industry and its people.
In India all the seven campuses of IIHM located in Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, Bangalore, Jaipur, Kolkata and Ahmedabad celebrated 3rd International Hospitality Day in partnership with the hospitality stalwarts of the respective city.
