IIIT Allahabad to Introduce B.Tech in Mass Media Informatics
The new B.Tech course launched in IIIT Allahabad which is on the specialisation of Mass Media Informatics which will address the skills and technological needs for media and entertainment industry.
The Indian Institute of Information and Technolgy - IIIT Allahabad is about launch a Bachelors programme in the field of Mass Media Informatics. Keeping in mind the growing demand for trained professional in the mentioned industry, the IIIT Allahabad came up with the decision of introducing the B.Tech program in the specialisation.
The Director of IIIT Allahabad, Prof. Nagabhushan said that the students getting into the IT-Mass Media course of IIIT-A will receive all the required knowledge and skills required for the technology discipline in media and entertainment sectors.
A workshop on the topic ‘Mass Media Informatics’ was conducted in the Jhalwa campus of the Institute before the launch of the course. The Workshop was a two-day workshop to convey the knowledge about what the B.Tech Mass Media Informatics course is about and its implementation in the industry.
The Senate of IIIT Allahabad has already given its nod to proceed with the course in the campus of IIIT-A informed Prof. Nagabhushan. He added that a brainstorming session was held in the institute where the key persons from the industry were invited to design the curriculum of the proposed course. The experts have given their valuable suggestions and opinions on the course.

Prof. Anupam Agrawal, who is the coordinator of the course has informed the experts who shaped the course with their opinions and insights included names like, Prof Govindji Pandey, Professor of Journalism and Mass Communication Department at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University, Lucknow (BBAU); Jatin Srivastava who is the Associate professor of EW Scrips School of Journalism, Ohio under the University of United States and Prof. Sisir Basu, Professor of Journalism & Mass Communication in BHU (Banaras Hindu University) under the Faculty of Arts, BHU.
