IIIT Delhi Students Get Rs.10 Lakh Funding for Innovation Project
A team of four students from IIIT Delhi has bagged funding worth Rs.10 lakh from the India Innovation Growth Programme 2.0 for their innovation project VTOL. The competition was held in IIT Bombay on 29th and 30th June.
Department of Science and Technology - DST, Lockheed Martin and Tata Trusts has declared the winners of the India Innovation Growth Programme 2.0. The price distribution ceremony took place at the Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi on 2nd August 2018.
A team of four students from Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-D) have bagged a funding of Rs. 10 lakh for their VTOL-UAV innovative projects. The Indian Innovation Growth Programme was held on 29th and 30th June at IIT Bombay. Over 700 teams participated in the competition but only 15 teams were selected as winners.

The team of four students - Aseem Saini, Mukul Chhabra, Saksham Vohra and Devesh Yadav represented IIIT-Delhi in the IIGP University Challenge. They have been offered a funding of Rs. 10 lakh for their innovation project VTOL- Vertical Takeoff Landing.
It is a hybrid UAV for smart cities. Apart from this, they will also be attending regular workshops and training sessions in IIM Ahmedabad and IIT Bombay. The winning team will also get a chance to learn about Cambridge Entrepreneurial System at the MIT Tata Centre.

The winners have also been awarded a short training trip to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The IIGP 2.0 aims to improve the Indian Innovation Ecosystem by providing support to new innovators.
