IIIT Hyderabad Announces New Admission Process for UG Courses

IIIT Hyderabad has revised the admission process for Undergraduate Engineering Entrance Exam (UGEE). The premier IT institute has made some significant changes to the existing admission process to ensure that students with keen interest in research are selected for the dual degree courses. For this purpose, IIIT Hyderabad has opened an exclusive channel for the students in the CBSE Uddan scheme.

One of the major changes in the admission process is the extension of UGEE mode of admission to all dual degree courses offered by the institute. The shortlisted students based on the written test will be called for interview.

IIIT Hyderabad has launched a Special Channel of Admission (SPEC) for B.Tech CSE and ECE courses. All the students who have cleared Class 12, as well as, qualified for CBSE Uddan scheme are eligible for the admission through SPEC.

IIIT Hyderabad confirmed that there would be no change in the admission process under Olympiad mode. UGEE is the major criterion for these aspirants. Similarly, there will be no change in the admission process for four-year B.Tech course in ECE/ CSE. The admissions will be based on JEE Mains.

IIIT Hyderabad is also providing Lateral Entry option for CSD and ECD dual degree courses. Through this facility, students can shift to IIIT Hyderabad after completion of the two-year course in another college. The major benefit of this initiative is that students can get both B.Tech and MS by Research degrees in another four years. It is a unique and great programme for the students who have a keen interest in research.

March 15, 2018, is the deadline to register for IIIT Hyderabad UGEE.
