IIIT Hyderabad to Host 15th Edition of R&D Exhibition
It is a two-day exhibition where a total number of 300 projects will be displayed in the areas of bioinformatics, robotics, data engineering, cognitive science, language technologies and machine learning.
International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad will host its 15th edition of Research and Development (R&D) Exhibition on February 17 & 18, 2017. The major objective of carrying out R&D showcase is to exhibit the projects that are being carried out at IIIT Hyderabad.
It is a two-day exhibition where a total number of 300 projects will be displayed in the areas of bioinformatics, robotics, data engineering, cognitive science, language technologies and machine learning. The exhibition will also have a panel discussion on research in these areas, and the meeting will focus on figuring out ideas to develop research in these areas. Industry experts and investors are likely to grace the event and participate in panel discussion.

Recently, International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad selected five city-based early startups as a part of its deep tech accelerator programme, i.e., Avishkar. Currently, the third batch of Avishkar is going on, and a total number of 70 applications were received for this programme earlier, and five out of 70 were selected.

The selected startups will not only get a seed funding of Rs. 10 lakh, but they will also have access to research labs at IIIT Hyderabad. It is a six-month programme and the principal objective of the programme to make early startups market-ready by structured business coaching.
The first batch startups of Avishkar programme graduated in January 2017 and the second batch is expected to graduate by May or June this year.
