The director of IIM-A said that they have proposed increasing the capacity of both their PGPX and PGP programmes. Increasing capacity requires capital investment. The institute is open to all possibilities like financial support from the government, to fund the expansion. The institute has asked for government funding, soft loan or other instruments, but HRD ministry is yet to nod the proposal as the investment in increasing the capacity of present IIMs is highly costly for the nation.
Central Government is also planning for the establishment of IIMs in the following states-
- Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh)
- Sirmaur (Himachal Pradesh)
- Bodh Gaya (Bihar)
- Nagpur (Maharashtra)
