IIM-Ahmedabad Invites Funding Support from Alumni for Restoration of Louis Khan Campus
Louis Khan Campus at IIM-A is iconic that had witnessed the generations of academic life. The campus also withstood the earthquake that occurred in Gujarat on January 26, 2001.
Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad is planning to restore and conserve its Heritage Campus. Therefore, the institute has invited corporate and alumni to be a part of restoration and conservation. Recently, the Government of India has recognised the preservation and restoration of Louis Khan Campus buildings of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad as an important task.
The contribution for the restoration of Heritage Campus will be covered in the Companies Act 2013 that is under the ambit of CSR. The Act says that the protection of national culture, art and heritage that include restoration of sights, which are of historical importance as well as promoting education.

Recently, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad has received a major funding from alumni batches and individual alumni for the restoration and conservation of infrastructure, classrooms and dorms.
Prof. Kamala Chowdhury, an individual alumnus has donated a sum of Rs. 3.5 crore and Dorm D1 at Louis Khan Campus will be renamed as Prof. Kamala Chowdhury Dorm. Prof. Labdhi Bhandari has donated a sum of Rs. 2.5 crore and Classroom 3 will be renamed as CR3 – Prof. Labdhi Bhandari Classroom. The 1992 batch of the institute also donated a sum of Rs. 2.5 crore and Classroom 4 will be renamed as CR4 – 1992 Batch Classroom.
In 2016, Tata Consultancy Services collaborated with Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad for the restoration of Vikram Sarabhai University at IIM-A. TCS foundation supported the initiative with the funding of Rs. 20 crores.
