IIM-Ahmedabad’s PGP-FABM Programme Retains Number 1 Rank
The Post Graduate Programme in Food and Agri-Business Management at IIM Ahmedabad beat the USA, France and Australia to reach the top position. The popularity of this programme attracts more than one lakh students every year for just 46 seats.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad scored the first position in the world for its PGP-FABM (Postgraduate Programme in Food and Agri-Business Management). As per the Eduniversal Best Masters Ranking, the postgraduate programme taught at IIM Ahmedabad is rated the best in the world for the fourth time in a row.

According to the ranking, other than IIM Ahmedabad, there is no Indian institute in the top 50. The top five courses that made it to the list are:

In 1974, this top-ranked programme was launched giving it the name of PGP-SPA (Post Graduate Programme with Specialisation Package in Agriculture). In 2000, the programme was revamped and relaunched with the name that PGP-ABM. The duration of this course is for two years. Every year, a staggering number of more than 1,34,000 candidates apply for the course for only 46 seats.
As per an official statement of IIM Ahmedabad, the objective of the programme is to develop young women and men into professional and skilled managers for the food and agri-business.
Currently, the batch has a total of 46 students. Out of the total strength, 22 are women and the rest are men. Most of the candidates in the current batch are from an engineering background. About 20 students came from engineering discipline whereas, 16 students from Science.
