IIM Ahmedabad PGP 2018-20 Comprises Students from Diverse Backgrounds

Over the past few years, IIM Ahmedabad has been surprising everyone with its diverse PGP batch. It seems like the premier management institute is welcoming students with different worldviews and experiences. Continuing its trend, IIM Ahmedabad’s PGP batch of 2018-20 is the most diverse in terms of educational background, work experience and gender diversity. The most surprising aspect is that the new PGP batch includes students who have achieved significant laurels/ accolades in areas as uncommon as philanthropy, scientific research and golf.

It was the idea of the premier management institute to welcome students from diverse backgrounds. It gives a unique experience to students and it is a source to exposure.

Here is the list of some of the students enrolled in IIM Ahmedabad PGP course 2018-20 along with their background and profiles.

• Parikshit Khanna who graduated from IIT Kanpur in Mathematics (2016) was engaged in Development Consulting until IIM Ahmedabad welcomed him in PGP course. Parikshit Khanna’s significant achievement was the passage of SEBI circular regarding curtailing/ restriction of unauthorised trading by brokers.
• Purvi Edara graduated in Psychology with a double in International Relations and Economics from SSLA (Symbiosis School of Liberal Arts) Pune. She was not only the best performer of the college but also ranked fourth in MaRSS International Spelling Bee. After the graduation, she was engaged in the internship with child psychology centre that treats children with neurodevelopment disorders.
• Nitin Pai, an international chess player, who represented India in Common Wealth Chess Championship, was also one among the students of IIM PGP batch 2018-20. He was the winner of several national-level chess competitions. He was a B.Tech graduate from IIT Madras and was a top-ranker in Kerala Engineering Entrance Exam (KEAM).
• Aditya Agarwal, a Civil Engineering graduate from IIT Delhi took an interesting step in the career by pursuing PG Diploma in Liberal Studies and YIF (Young India Fellowship) from Ashoka University. He was associated with the students of Ashoka University for three years by mentoring students on different career prospects. His motive to take up management course in IIM Ahmedabad is to understand the depth of business decision making.
• Mehak Sharma, a commerce graduate from the University of Delhi and a professional golf player also evinced keen interest in joining IIM Ahmedabad. She bagged the 8^th spot in Southern Indian Junior and Ladies Championship, Bangalore conducted by Indian Golf Union (IGU).
• Prany Tyle, a gold medallist from the Delhi Public School and a graduate from John Hopkins University in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, has now joined the family of IIM Ahmedabad to pursue postgraduate management course. He also conducted extensive research on Oncology for three years, and his findings were published in Nature Communications in 2017. His findings received widespread attention from the global media.
• Meet Agarwal, a B.Com graduate who also cleared IPCC exam for CA raking 5^th in India aspiring to hone his business acumen at IIM Ahmedabad. He featured in Limca Book of Records at the age of 10 for playing 47 instruments in eleven minutes. He scored 100 percentile in CAT 2017 and was the topper of CBSE Class 12 board exams in Gujarat.
• Anju Bansal, a Security Law and Public Policy Enthusiast is interested in management education to enhance his understanding of decision making and thereby contribute to public policymaking.
