IIM Bangalore to Launch International Management Programme for Technologists (IMPT)
- IIM Bangalore has collaborated with Germany based business schools to bring together best in class academicians and leading researchers.
- The IMPT programme will focus on innovation, technology driven business models, intrapreneurship and platform business models.
Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore has announced its significant collaboration with two premier b-schools in Germany – the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (ISS) Germany and the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen (Nuremberg) for an International Management Programme for Technologists (IMPT). It is an innovative executive programme which is designed by three premier management schools to facilitate technology leaders to respond effectively to complexities and challenges faced by them.
IMPT programme is offered to technology and engineering managers, research and development leaders, managers in charge of large and complex projects in Europe and India, product designers and architects. IMPT is a two-week programme that will be offered at both locations with participants travelling to Bangalore and Nuremberg for one week each.

The major focus of IMPT programme is on intrapreneurship, technology-driven business models, innovation and platform for business models.
IMPT programme will enable the participants to get a detailed understanding of German and Indian technology ecosystems to deliver the competencies necessary for global business. An example of the same - Industry 4.0 which originated in Nuremberg (Germany) is highly renowned for its manufacturing excellence. On the other hand, Bangalore is the destination and home to vibrant technology start-up ecosystem and is widely considered as the ‘Silicon Valley of India’.

The collaboration between IIM Bangalore and German institutes will bring leading researchers and best-in-class academicians on strategic innovation, management and cooperation. The digital transformation of organisations will be possible through this significant collaboration.
The IMPT programme will help the participants to understand the ways relating to usage of technology and leveraging the benefits of open innovation in sharing economy. The programme will equip the managers to work in cross-cultural, cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
