IIM Calcutta Organizes VLM NEXUS’ 22”- Crystal Jubilee for PGPEX VLM Graduates
IIM Calcutta organizes the 15th VLM NEXUS' 22 for the graduating students of the PGPEX VLM 2022 batch on March 6, 2022. IIT Madras, and IIT Kanpur also took part in this prestigious event. Check the detailed news here.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta conducts the crystal jubilee for the Post Graduate Programme for Executives for Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing (PGPEX VLM). This was the celebration for the 15th batch graduating in PGPEX VLM. The event was held on March 6, 2022, called “VLM NEXUS’ 22”. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and IIT Kanpur also participated in the event. The PGPEX VLM programme was created by Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam and Professor Shoji Shiba.
The event VLM NEXUS’ 22 hosted some of the leading personalities as guests. The event was inaugurated by the Director of IIM Calcutta, Professor Uttam Kumar Sarkar, who summarized and stated about the past VLM batches. Other prominent guests were the CEO of Lenskart, Peyush Bansal; CFO of IndiGrid, Jyoti Kumar Agarwal; CEO of Altigreen Propulsion Labs, Amitabh Saran.

During the event, the guests also gave some inspiring and real-life-related speeches. The CEO of Lenskart, Peyush Bansal talked about the acceleration of the manufacturing industry in the post-pandemic situation in India. He also added some important points as to how it is important to have leadership skills to create a work environment to develop the manufacturing sector of India.
The CEO of Altigreen Propulsion Labs, Amitabh Saran, spoke about the failure of start-ups that they do not fail due to starvation. However, start-ups may fail due to indigestion. Meanwhile, the CFO of IndiGrid, Jyoti Kumar Agarwal smartly pointed out the requirement and need for a skilled workforce in India, to emerge in the top three positions of the world in terms of economics. Also, Sunderraman spoke about how to use their educations at IIM Calcutta, IIT Madras, and IIT Kanpur as building blocks to build their careers like in the game of Lego.
Additionally, the founding professors of IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, and IIM Calcutta congratulated the graduates and shared their experiences during the event. Further, all the guests and professors applauded and greeted the graduates with best wishes. Finally, the event concluded with a promise to make India a Manufacturing Superpower in the world.
