IIM Calcutta Student Bags Rs. 70 Lakh Offer; Finance Sector Offers Maximum Jobs

One of the students of Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta bagged highest domestic package of Rs. 70 lakh per annum. The placement season for the year 2017 at IIM Calcutta witnessed the highest international package of 90,000 Euros per annum. The PGDM batch of the institute has been successful in achieving 100% placements in a span of three days. Surprisingly, the number of international offers that were made during the placements was 474.

As usual, Finance sector continued to be the highest recruiter with 29 percent offers. The top recruiters in the finance sector were: -

• HSBC
• Goldman Sachs
• Edelweiss
• Avendus

Similarly, the Consulting sector was the second largest recruiter with 22 percent offers. The top recruiters in the consulting sector were: -

• McKinsey
• BCG
• Bain
• AT Kearney
• Accenture

Firms belonging to General Management also made 15 percent offers. The top recruiters in General Management sector were: -

• TAS
• CK Birla
• ABG

E-Commerce and IT Sector also made 14 percent of offers and the top recruiters in this domain were: -

• Amazon
• Wipro

Finally, Sales and Marketing bagged the fifth spot by offering 12 percent jobs. The major recruiters in this domain were: -

• Reckitt Benckiser
• P&G
• ITC
• HUL

Additionally, with an objective to promote entrepreneurship skills, Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta and Amway have collaborated to launch a new course in Entrepreneurship. The duration of the course will be 12 months and there will be 18,000 training sessions.
