IIM Directors Discuss New Bill, Ideas of Cooperation at IIM-B Meet
- IIM Bangalore organised the meeting to provide a platform to share the best practices and ideas of cooperation.
- CAT, IIM Bill, Accreditation, National Testing Agency, GST Implementation etc. were some topics that were covered.
Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, popularly known as IIM Bangalore recently convened a two-day meet. It invited all the heads of IIMs to provide them a platform to share the best practices for fostering collaboration. Fifteen IIM directors, one convenor, nodal officers of two new IIMs and eight chief administrative officers attended the meeting. The motive behind the meet was to work on a prequel to the Annual PAN-IIM conference that will be held in December 2017 at IIM Lucknow.

Director of IIM Bangalore, Mr. G. Raghunandan revealed that common concerns of the management institutes were raised during the meeting. Apart from that, best practices that can be adopted on the basis of past experiences were also contemplated on during the discussions.
The meeting commenced with a plenary that fixed the context for the discussions, specifically the IIM Bill, more so because it has been approved by the Parliament. After that, discussions took place in two separate groups which included the Directors and CAOs. The Heads of Finance, ERP, HR and key functionaries from IIM Bangalore also took part in the same.

The second group, i.e., CAOs covered the following issues -
- Finance (GST Implementation, Income Tax etc)
- Procurement
- Recruitment
- Automating Process
