IIM Indore Appoints New Chairman
Deepak M. Satwalekar, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Society as well as Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Management Indore.
Deepak M. Satwalekar, has officially been appointed as the Chairman of the Society as well as among the Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Management Indore. He has assumed charge as the Chairman of the institute for three years from 27th January 2017 onwards.
Before that, he was the Managing Director & CEO of HDFC Standard Life Insurance Co. Apart from that, he also served as one of the Managing Director of Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC).

Satwalekar has also worked as a consultant to Asian Development Bank, World Bank, the United Nations Human Settlements Programme called HABITAT and the United States Agency for International Development, popularly known as USAID.
The new Board of Governors chairman is on the Advisory Council of IIT Bombay. Additionally, he has also been a member of a lot of expert groups such as those related to RBI, industry and the government. He is an alumnus from IIT Bombay and an MBA degree holder from the American University, Washington D.C.
With the aim of imparting high-quality management education as well as training, HRD Ministry of the Government of India established IIM Indore as Institute of Excellence 1996, IIM. It is the sixth state-sponsored management schools in the country.
Spreading over 193-acres of area, IIM Indore is one of the beautiful campuses of the country with a state-of-the-art sports complex, hostels and modern infrastructure.

It's two years full-time residential PGP or Post-Graduate Diploma in Management is its flagship management programme. The programme is recognised by AIU or the Association of Indian Universities which is equivalent to MBA degree of an Indian University. Over the years, the institute has been in limelight for its excellent placement records, the introduction of new programmes, international expansion, infrastructure facilities, strengthening of manpower.
