IIM-Indore Clarifies that Maths is Not Mandatory for Integrated Programme in Management (IPM)
Non-mathematics background students can apply for the five-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM), an after-school course, that is offered by Indian Institute of Management, Indore.
It is a sigh of relief for candidates who are from non-mathematics background and looking forward to seeking admission in the five-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM), an after-school course, that is offered by Indian Institute of Management, Indore.
IIM-Indore has clarified that mathematics is not mandatory in Class 12 to seek admission in IPM course. Last year, the institute clearly indicated that the students from non-mathematics background are not eligible for admission to the IPM course. However, the institute has changed its decision as most of the IPM aspirants from non-mathematics background made representations to the institute. It is to be noted that the condition will be imposed from the next year.

IIM-Indore has also clarified that the revised structure for the first three years of IPM programme focuses on building a strong platform for the participants to launch into the final stage of the programme.
The students will undergo a rigorous training in mathematics, statistics, economics and social sciences in the first three years. The students need to develop logical thinking and high aptitude for mathematics in this period.
The IPM students are further required to enroll for and complete a social internship at the end of the third year. Additionally, students also do a business internship along with the PGP students between the fourth and the final years.
IPM is the most sought after course in the country where the competition is high as 100 candidates compete for every one seat every year. It is a creative programme which enables the students to become management professionals, change agents and societal leaders.
