IIM Indore Organises Two Week Long Event on 'Hindi'
The event was inaugurated on 14th September’ 16 - National Hindi Day/ Hindi Diwas.
Hindi being the first language of most of the Indians there is a strong need to promote it amidst this English fair. So, Indian Institute of Management of Indore has organised the first ever two-week long event on Hindi. The event was inaugurated on 14th September’ 16 which was the National Hindi Day. The event will last till 28th September’ 16 and is aimed at making students understand the importance of Hindi as a language. The event will have lots of activities and games available like Antakshari etc and the activities are open for the entire IIM Indore community including students, staff and faculty.

The head of the organising committee of the event is Jainath Yadav who is also a language professor at IIM Indore. He said that it is really important for students to know the importance of Hindi and to know how to speak Hindi properly as most of the IIM graduates go forward to be government servants.

The event was inaugurated by Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan who is the IIM Indore’s Director and Col KT Udupa who is the Chief Administrative Officer. The director shared his views on Hindi. He said that the language Hindi has always been an integral part of India’s education system. He also said that most people know Hindi in India but it is time to actually ‘know’ the language. The event witnessed more than 40 participants and the questions asked in the quiz revolved around Hindi Literature, famous authors, renowned Indian personalities, current affairs and sports.
