IIM Indore Students Help Setup Library at Government School
The financial assistance provided by Prof. Manoj helped the students to donate 124 books, seven board games, one globe and 15 charts.
Students from Indian Institute of Management, Indore set up a library at a government school as a part of the 'Umeed' Initiative. The library will help the students from Class 1 to 8 at a government school located at Janapav Kutti. Prof. Manoj Motiani of IIM-Indore provided financial assistance for setting up the library. The inauguration of the library took place on January 26, 2017, and the chief guest was Prof. Manoj Motiani. Sarpanch of Janapav Kutti was also present on the occasion as a special guest.

The financial assistance provided by Prof. Manoj helped the students to donate 124 books, seven board games, one globe and 15 charts. Stationery items were also distributed among the students from Class 1 to 8. On this occasion, students of the school thanked IIM Indore for providing the library. Revanth Sindhu, one of the students of the Integrated Programme in Management or the IPM course at IIM Indore revealed that the students were excited to have got a library facility in their school.

On this occasion, the importance of education was communicated to the school students by postgraduates of IIM Indore. A regular interaction was carried out between the school students and IIM Indore students.
Monika Pindiga and Kapil Yadav, Coordinators of 'Umeed' Team, stated that they would conduct more such programmes in Janapav Kutti village to improve some critical aspects like employment and education status of the area.
The students were appreciated by the Sarpanch who thanked them for their support and encouragement. He mentioned that a library is one the best sources of knowledge and the students can improve their reading skills as well as knowledge through a library. Therefore, the initiative taken by the students of IIM Indore is appreciable and noteworthy.
