IIM Kozhikode Conducts Certificate Program in Social Initiatives for Navy Wives
IIMK conducted a Certificate Program in the Management of Social Initiatives for Navy wives. The curriculum of the program was designed by some of the leading academics at IIMK.
IIM Kozhikode conducted a Certificate Program in the Management of Social Initiatives for members of the Navy Wives Welfare Association (NWWA) recently. The objective of this program is to offer the participants a chance to prepare them so that they can make an impact through their work in a sustainable way.

The program curriculum was designed by IIMK’s leading academics for learning practices and theory of management with a focus on handling social initiatives such as NGO activities, Corporate Social Responsibility Projects, and Social Enterprises. The program includes video projects, case analysis, lecture discussions, peer-learning and participation in community-based organisations, social enterprises and NGOs. The first module has 25 hours of on-campus classes which will be delivered in a span of a week at the IIMK campus from March 2-6, 2020. The second module will have a duration of 20 hours and it will take place over the technology platform via broadband communication. Candidates can attend classes from their respective locations with the faculty members in a studio in a live multi-media session over a technology platform. It will be delivered over a span of 10 weeks.
The third module will have a duration of 25 hours and it will include immersion field trips to NGOs, Social Enterprises and Companies in Kochi. The final module will include project presentations along with feedback sessions. This will be completed over 3-3.5 months.

IIMK Director, Prof Debashis Chatterjee said at the program’s inauguration that there is no contradiction between the women who are professionals and the ones who stay at home. All of them play an equally important role the society. This program has been launched so that the skills and expertise of the talented women resources can be used for the betterment of the society and the nation. At the same time, it can also help the members of the Navy Wives Welfare Association with their passion for social welfare in an efficient manner.
