New Batches of IIM K Have More than 50 percent Female Intake
52% of the PGP batch and 62% of the MBA (LSM) batch of IIMK comprises female students. The new batches will be the most diverse in terms of academic backgrounds. Online classes to begin on 12 August.
The final admission results of the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM K) were announced on 13 May 2020 and the institute has recently shared some information about its upcoming batches. Female students have grabbed more than half of the seats in the upcoming batches of IIMK.
As per the information shared by the institute, 52% of the students in its new PGP batch will be female. The institute has seen a high ratio of females in the newly-added MBA in Liberal Studies and Management (LSM) course as well in which the ratio stands at 62%.
The institute will be conducting a virtual orientation session for the new students before the classes begin.

Most Diverse Batch of IIM K
The 24th batch of the IIMK will be the most diverse in terms of academic background. While the batch follows past trends and a majority of the 492 students come from an engineering background, 40% of the students have non-engineering educational qualifications. They have a background in arts, science, architecture, medicine and commerce.
Most of the students joining the new batch have work experience in varied backgrounds including banking, engineering, pharmaceutical industries etc.

Online Classes To Start From August 12
The classes for the new batches of IIMK will begin from 12 August 2020. The institute will conduct online classes as the campus has not been reopened due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The institute is also looking at plans to reopen the campus while taking into account student safety and social distancing norms amid the ongoing crisis.
