IIM Lucknow Revises Admission Policy, Removes WAT for 2020-22
Due to the extension of the COVID-19 lockdown, IIM Lucknow has revised its admission policy for the 2020-22 academic session. The institute has removed WAT from the selection process.
Due to the extension of the coronavirus lockdown in the nation till May 3, 2020, IIM Lucknow has revised its admission process for the 2020-22 PGP session and has scrapped the Writing Ability Test (WAT) which is for 10 marks from the evaluation component for PGP/PGP-SM and PGP-ABM admission. The change is applicable only for this year due to the ongoing health emergency situation.

The institute had earlier decided to postpone WAT but now has decided to do away with it. Before the lockdown, more than 70 per cent of the candidates had appeared for WAT. IIM Lucknow Dean faculty said that it is not feasible to conduct WAT online so they are going ahead with the decision to remove it for now. The weightage for the other parameters will remain the same and the remaining candidates will have to appear for a virtual personal interview. The candidates will be informed regarding the institute date.

According to the new admission policy, those who appear for the PI will need a score of 12 out of 40. Those who fail to meet the minimum qualifying marks in the interview will not be a part of the final merit list of the candidates who will be offered admission.
