IIM Lucknow and ISB Suspend Classes Amid Coronavirus Threat
IIML and ISB have suspended classes amid the coronavirus scare. Students in both institutes have been asked to vacate campuses on 18 March. However, students who wish to appear for the IIML PGP end-semester exams from 21 March have been allowed to do so.
The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIML) and the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad and Mohali both have suspended their classes in light of the Coronavirus threat. IIML has made the end-semester exams options for the 1st year students in its Post Graduate Programme (PGP).
Students Staged Protest in IIM Lucknow
The decision of IIM Lucknow to cancel the classes came after students staged a protest on March 16, 2020. The students met the director and raised concerns about the safety of their staying on campus in light of the Coronavirus scare.

The institute has made the end-semester exams for first-year PGP students optional. The exams are scheduled to start on 21 March 2020. Students have been given the option to appear in the exams from the 21st or after returning from their summer internships in June.
The students who chose to appear for the exams in June were asked to vacate the campus by 5 PM on 18 March.
ISB Geared Up to Tackle Coronavirus
In a release, ISB has assured that it is ready to combat the Covid-19 pandemic across both its campuses in Hyderabad and Mohali. The institute also notified in the release that, taking cognizance of the importance of precautionary measures to stop the virus spread, it has adopted a multi-pronged strategy in its campuses.

Students of ISB were asked to vacate both campuses by 18 March. The institute has also postponed the graduation ceremony, which was due to be held in April.
Philip Charles Zerrillo the Deputy Dean of ISB, said that they were taking any measures necessary for the safety of their students and staff.
