IIM Ranchi to Offer MBA in Business Analytics: First Batch Starts from June 2021
The MBA in Business Analytics programme at IIM Ranchi will cater to the increasing demand for analytics professionals by businesses. The programme will provide in-depth theoretical knowledge to the students while also including hands-on practical training.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ranchi has announced that it will start offering MBA in Business Analytics from the academic year 2021 onwards. MBA in Business Analytics at IIM Ranchi will be offered as a full-time residential course of 2 years duration. The course will provide theoretical and practical knowledge about analytics to the students.
IIM Ranchi, a premier b-school in India, is targeting a market that is quickly adapting analytics as a vital part of Business Management in companies. Data has become a valued commodity and all of the business decisions are now data-based. Hence, the scope of Analytics has grown exponentially for the past few years and it is expected to increase as more companies join the bandwagon.
IIM Ranchi is already offering education in the field of Business Analytics through its Management Development Program (MDP) as well as programmes such as Executive Program in Business Analytics & Business Intelligence (EPBABI) and Certificate Program in Business Analytics & Business Intelligence (CPBABI).
The 2-year MBA in Business Analytics programme, however, will be the first full-time management course offered by the institute. The first batch of MBA in Business Analytics at IIM Ranchi will commence from June 2021.

IIM Ranchi's MBA in Business Analytics course curriculum with cover data science, machine learning, statistical modelling, big data, data mining techniques, data visualisation, natural language processing as well as social media analytics. The programme has been designed to provide in-depth knowledge of the various tools and techniques currently being employed by organisations in the field of analytics.
Students will be taught programmes such as Python, R and SPSS Modeller. They will also be taken through various other tools and technologies including COGNOS, Node X1, Gephi etc.
