IIM Rohtak to Open a Study Centre in Gurugram
IIM Rohtak has decided to launch a study centre of the institute at Gurugram. This step will be taken for the assistance of students in the NCR who want to go in the field of management.
The Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak (IIM Rohtak) has planned to open a study centre in the city Gurugram from the upcoming academic session. The authorities of IIM Rohtak have decided to start a study centre of the institute in the city so as to facilitate the students of NCR (National Capital Region) who are aspiring to pursue management studies.
The Director of IIM Rohtak, Professor Dheeraj Sharma, said that the authorities have planned to launch an extension campus at Gurugram (earlier known as Gurgaon) in order to cater to the students of the NCR. The classes will be organised without the requirement of any residential facility. The centre will be started from the coming academic session if all goes well.
Professor Sharma pointed out that 124 students out of the total 246 who have joined the Postgraduate Programme (PGP) course this year are girls. He said that the majority of the total strength falls in the age group of 23 to 25 years. The batch includes students from over 20 states of India. Apart from that, an excellent blend of academic diversity can also be found in the batch with students from the backgrounds of engineering, humanities, commerce, management, economics, and applied sciences comprising the overall strength.

Meanwhile, IIM Rohtak welcomed the 10th batch of the flagship programme of PGP on 1st July 2019, Monday. The induction-cum-orientation programme was held over three days and it was attended by the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India, Syed Muazzem Ali, Satya Pal Singh (MP), Dr. Subramanian Swamy (MP), the President and CEO of Cannon, Kazitada Kobayashi, Founder of Fortis Healthcare, Shivinder Mohan Singh, Advisor of NITI Ayog, Alok Kumar, and Commissioner of GST and Customs, Neeraj Kansal.
Satya Pal Singh talked about management life in his inaugural address and said that it should lead to happiness. He told the students that in order to achieve happiness they will have to take care of all the four aspects of life- mind, body, soul, and intellect.

Syed Muazzem Ali advised the students that as future managers, they must pay close attention to their relationship with neighbouring countries as the future of a country is intertwined with that of its neighbours. Dr. Swamy observed that MBA is not just a degree but it is also about developing a mindset that is capable of rational risk-taking.
