IIM Shillong Inaugurates International Student Exchange Programme with Mandalay University
Indian Institute of Management, Shillong launched international student exchange programme on March 22, 2017, with Mandalay University, Myanmar.
Indian Institute of Management, Shillong launched international student exchange programme on March 22, 2017, with Mandalay University, Myanmar. It was inaugurated by Shri. Falguni Rajkumar, Chairman of Board of Governors, IIM Shillong. Director of the institute, Prof. Amitabha De addressed the gathering. On this occasion, he thanked the Ministry of External Affairs as well as Counsel General, Mandalay for extending their support in going ahead with the programme.
Prof. Naliniparva Tripathy, Dean Research gave details about the programme to the participants. He indicated that they are looking forward to launching more such exchange programmes with premier business schools and universities across the globe. Student exchange programmes will not only breed academic discourses but also facilitate culture exchange.

He further explained that the course has been titled as “Refresher Course in Management” and the duration of the course is ten days. The course targets MBA students and makes them understand management by a renewed perspective at par with changing global scenario. The course will also enable the students to face challenges in the modern business scenario.
Prof. Naliniparva Tripathy elaborated that the student exchange programme is a student-instructor-arranged intercultural immersion experience that features core management learning and collaborative research.

Currently, a Memorandum of Understanding with Mandalay University is in the process. The MoU will give a permanent shape to this programme and enable various research initiatives and faculty-student exchanges. Indian Institute of Management, Shillong is taking steps to build a long lasting relationship with Myanmar as well as other nations.
