IIM Trichy Conducts Weekend MBA Course for Working Professionals in Chennai
IIM Trichy is offering weekend MBA course for working professionals. The cost of the course is between Rs.10-12 lakh roughly and those who have more than 5 years of work experience will be preferred.
Working professionals who are not able to take a break from their career to fulfil their aspirations of pursuing a management course can now breathe a sigh of relief as Indian Institute of Management(IIM) Trichy is all set to offer an MBA course during the weekends in Chennai. IIM Trichy, one of the country’s topmost business school will be offering a two-year weekend MBA programme at its Chennai campus in Ekkattuthangal.
IIM Trichy’s director Bhimaraya Metri said that the objective behind this programme is to help the junior-level employees enhance their skills so that they can move ahead in their career. Barring young engineers, working professionals working in other sectors and between the age bracket of 30-50 are reluctant to take a break from their career and pursue management course and especially if they are the only earning members of their families. IIM Trichy weekend classes will be beneficial for such people as they will be held on Friday from 7pm-1pm, on Saturday from 9am-5pm and on Sunday from 9am-1pm.

A 50-year-old CEO in a private consulting firm who joined this course said he was earlier engaged only with the operations manager but now he can interact directly with the board of directors and the IIM Trichy MBA tag has really helped him in this regard. This MBA programme is not conventional like the others and it has more real-life case studies and interactions with people from various sectors such as retail, quality, human resources, and supply chain management. But to study this, one has to be dedicated enough as weekends and holidays will have to be spent studying.
The strength of each batch is maximum 50 and those who have more than five years of work experience will be the ones who will be given preference. The cost of pursuing this course is roughly between Rs.10-12 lakh.

Metri mentioned that some corporates such as Saint Gobain, Neyveli Lignite Corporation and L&T had approached IIM Trichy for conducting similar programmes for their top performers. IIM-T will also conduct executive MBA courses for those who are in defence and would like to opt for civil jobs once their tenure ends.
