IIM Vishakapatnam inaugurated the third batch of Post Graduate Programme in Digital Governance and Management in virtual mode on February 19.
The batch primarily consists of government employees with work experience ranging from seven to fifteen years with diverse representation from thirteen states across the country as per the Admissions Chair, Milan Kumar.
The Chief Guest of the event Ajay Shawney delivered the inaugural address at the virtual event speaking on the importance of digital governance. He spoke about the pervasive implementation of digital governance across all sectors ranging from agriculture to wellness. He also spoke about how the implementation of digital-enabled solutions would go a long way in the development of the Indian Startup ecosystem. He observed that the proper implementation of digital governance in the country would lead to the growth of the nation towards a One Trillion Dollar Economy.

The keynote address was delivered by the Guest of Honour, Abhishek Singh President and CEO of NeGD Government of India. He focussed primarily on the achievements and the success of the government in the digital space. The director M. Chandrashekar gave an overview of the PGP-DGM Programme. He further went on to highlight the several achievements and successes of the programme by providing examples about how digital transformation is gaining more and more prominence. Reference to the budget was also drawn by the Director to showcase the intent of the government regarding this particular space.

The PGP-DGM course was launched by the National E-Governance Division, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and Government of India. It has been curated and designed for the training and upskilling of government employees and professionals to be more apt in digital transformation and digital governance.
