He made this announcement at a national seminar on “Media, Technology and Power of Politics: The Indian Conventicle.” The seminar was organised by Department of Mass Communication, Mizoram University. On this occasion, he indicated that it is significant to bring back objectivity to the media in the country. He said that with coming of age of technology and a surge in electronic media and subsequently electronic journalism, traditional journalism has suffered a great loss. He emphasised that the telecast of programmes like panel discussion on television has widely substituted old field reporting.
