Indian Institute of Management, Tricky is planning to give its students western hostel facilities.
With all the changing and revamping in air, IIMs also plan to upgrade its hostel facilities. Indian Institute of Management, Trichy is planning to give its students western hostel facilities which will include fully stocked pantries, air-conditioned rooms and freedom to cook food if a student wishes to.
The management institute wants to create a hub of education which is globally renowned. The Director of IIM, Trichy, Professor Prafulla Agnihotri said that providing these facilities will attract foreign students too.
IIM Udaipur also plans to do the same and they also believe that it is time India takes a step forward in education.
Having air conditioners in the hostel is a basic necessity in India as the weather is changing drastically and global warming is messing with the weather cycle. IIM Ahmedabad already has air conditioned rooms but they are only for short term course students.
IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta and IIM Lucknow are still debating if this is something they want to spend their resources on. While IIM Visakhapatnam already has air-conditioned hostels.
A student of IIM says that it is not something that one should debate over. With the changing weather conditions, it is important to make the necessary changes for survival. He also said that it is the matter of Human Resources, it is government’s responsibility to make sure that proper funds are given to the institute for its development.
And after this, two more students joined the conversation and said that India can be better than the United States but the only thing that is stopping us is that we are not ready to try.
