IIPE Visakhapatnam Signs MoU with Texas University
- As a part of this collaboration, IIPE and Texas University will take up join academic and research projects in the areas of gas and oil segment.

IIPE (Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy) Visakhapatnam has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Texas A and M University, also known as TAMU USA. The MoU was signed in the presence of officials of both institutes on January 09, 2018. As a part of this collaboration, the two premier institutes will take up join academic and research projects in the areas of gas and oil segment.

Director of IIPE Vizag, Mr. VSRK Prasad explained that the MoU would promote collaboration between the two institutes. In addition, students and faculty members of both institutes can take part in students and faculty exchange programmes. Joint research programmes and monitoring of the students are the major highlights of this collaboration. Through this MoU, TAMU and IIPE will play an overridden role in enhancing social, technological and cultural bondage between the two nations, he highlighted.

The MoU will lay emphasis on specified identified areas of cooperation that may be multiplied as befitting with the development of the formal pact.
TAMU is one of the oldest universities in the United States, which was established in the year 1876. It is the first public institution of higher learning in the US. The varsity is popular for its research initiatives and flagship programmes.
In August 2017, Lok Sabha passed a Bill for setting up IIPE in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Over 650 crore will be spent for the construction of a permanent campus of IIPE. The central government approved IIPE in Visakhapatnam as part of the special package after the separation of Telangana.
