IIT Bhubaneswar Boy Sets Record by Getting the Highest Salary Package of Rs. 39.02 LPA
A new record has been set at IIT Bhubaneswar with its student getting recruited and receiving the highest salary package. Chaitanya Pathipati, a B.Tech graduate, has grabbed a job at Microsoft with a salary of Rs. 39.02 lakhs per annum.
A student of Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar (IIT Bhubaneswar), Chaitanya Pathipati, has set a record by bagging the job offer of the highest salary in the campus placements of the institute this year. He grabbed a job offer that has pay of Rs. 39.02 lakhs per annum. This is the highest annual pay received by anyone in the 10-year history of the institute.
Chaitanya is a B.Tech graduate who belonged to the stream of Computer Science and Engineering. He received a job offer from IT giant Microsoft, followed by three other students who grabbed jobs at Goldman Sachs with the second highest pay of Rs. 31.50 lakhs per annum each. Three students were hired by Amazon with an annual salary of Rs. 28.75 each.

Last year, the highest starting salary record of IIT Bhubaneswar was Rs. 39 lakhs which was given to a girl by Adobe. Before that, a boy who graduated in 2016 was given an annual package of Rs. 39 lakhs while in 2017, another student had received a package of Rs. 34 lakhs per annum.
The Director of IIT Bhubaneswar, R V Raja Kumar, told that 50 companies came for the campus placement drive at IIT Bhubaneswar this year which was an increase from the number of 46 of last year. He said that the placements will go on for the whole month and more companies will join. A wide range of companies participated in the placements this year including educational institutions, PSUs, research organisations, software and ITES companies, etc. Majority of these are core industries.

A total number of 135 undergraduates had registered themselves for the campus placement drive and 87 percent of them have already been placed in different organisations. Likewise, around 94 postgraduate students participated in the placements and 65 percent of them have been recruited.
