IIT Bombay Organises 58th Interim Convocation, 211 Degrees Awarded
A total of 211 students were awarded their degrees in the 58th interim convocation ceremony of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. The degrees were awarded to Ph.D. holders and dual degrees holders along with others.
The IIT – Bombay (Indian Institute of Technology) awarded degrees to the students of the institution on the eve of 58th interim convocation session. A total of 211 students were awarded the degrees. However, the total number of degrees counted to be 192 which included 152 Ph.D. Degrees, 19 Dual Degrees (M.Sc. / M.Tech + 27 Ph.D.) and 18 E – MBA Degrees.
The degrees were awarded to those Ph.D. students who successfully completed all asked requirements within the time period starting from August 2019 to January 2020. Another criteria for these students was that, that they had to request for the degree to be given earlier than the interim convocation session. Dr. Lalit S. Kanodia, Chairman, Datamatics Global Services Limited was the Chief Guest for the interim convocation function.

Addressing the students Dilip Shanghvi motivated them and said that their journey in this top institution would carve their way in the world outside the institutional boundaries. He also encouraged students in different ways and said that the institution has helped them in enriching their educational and personal growth. This growth will help the students to counter all the challenging situations of the outside world.

Professor Devang V Khakar also congratulated the students and said that the world-renowned institution will continue to disseminate knowledge through various undergraduate and post-graduate courses. Expressing his happiness, he also added that the students are now all set to enter the new world and start something new with exciting phases of life. He also insisted students to have a great day and start a new with zeal and enthusiasm.
