IIT Council to Present Project Vishwajeet to Ministry of HRD on October 20, 2016

Since the time institutes in India did not feature in the top 100 Best Institutes, they have realized that the biggest drawback of our educational institutes is the lack of foreign faculty and foreign students. So, the Indian Institute of Technology all over India has come up with Project Vishwajeet. The IIT Council has already approved the project, which will the push the IITs into the international ranking. The council will present this project in front of the Ministry of Human Resources of Development on 20th October’ 16 for final approval.

The following IITs are part of the project Vishwajeet:

The project will focus mainly on filling 20% seats with foreign faculty and 20% seats with foreign students at the Bachelors & Masters level. It will also allow off-campus Ph. D students and will try to maintain 1:7 faculty-student ratio.

According to the sources, the proposal of Project Vishwajeet will be submitted on 17th October’ 16. After the final approval, allocation of funds will be started and work of creating global institutes will begin. Other than foreign students and foreign faculty, institutes will focus on student exchange programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
