Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi is going to organise Rendezvous – 2016, an annual fest. Under this, a social theme is picked up ever year. This year, the theme selected by the Institute is 'Pehchaan' (identity). Last year, it was child labour. The primary objective for choosing ‘Pechaan’ is to create awareness about the LGBTQ community, body shaming and gender stereotyping.
Himanshi Gautam, Social Coordinator of the fest, said that no one in the world could define what beauty is, whom one should love or how to behave. Stereotyping- of the body, gender or sexual preferences lowers the confidence of youth.
