IIT Delhi's New Center to focus on Efficient Usage of Electric Energy in Transports
The Indian Institute of Technology - IIT Delhi sets up Centre for Automotive Research and Tribology (CART) which will conduct researches on transports modes with efficient usage of electrical energy.
Centre for Automotive Research and Tribology (CART) was inaugurated by the Indian Institute of Technology - IIT Delhi. The institute revealed the new centre of CART on Wednesday. It is expected that the new centre will be helpful to conduct various research projects in the Institue.
The CART will put the focus on research, teaching, energy storage and monitoring, automotive health monitoring, calibration, diagnostics, tribology and technological service in the area of electric vehicles.
The Indian Institute of Technology - IIT Delhi is working to build a world-class centre where the research will be conducted to take the country in more and more energy-efficient transport options said, V. Ramagopal Rao, who is the director of the Indian Institute of Technology - IIT Delhi. He also added that he wants to see IIT Delhi play a global role in pioneering energy efficient transport system by contributing to such technologies.

With the aim of developped and versatile research facilities in IIT Delhi, the Institute recently came up with Centre for Atmospheric Sciences in the campus which will conduct Study on Heat Stress Tolerance Thresholds. The director of the institute said that the institute is building itself up in terms of world-class research facilities. Prof Sagnik Dey, who is the faculty of CAS in IIT Delhi expressed that even the government will be benefited by the research initiative in IIT Delhi and make plans accordingly analyzing the data.
