As per the officials of IIT, the students who will be awarded an I/F grade will have a chance to improve their score and obtain a P(E) grade within the specific deadline, and the details with regard to the same shall be communicated soon.

In context to the new grading system, the Dean of Academic Affairs, Prof. Pratik Mutha, IIT Gandhinagar stated that if the students fail to pass a subject, I/F grade will be converted to F grade and the same will not be counted in the overall credits of graduation. However, the I/F grade will not be included in the report card and neither P(E) nor I/F grades will be included in the CPI (Cumulative Performance Index) calculation.
