IIT Gandhinagar Signs MoU with Four New Jersey Public Universities
The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar has recently come into a partnership with four different public universities from New Jersey, USA. The Director of IIT Gandhinagar along with officials and the New Jersey Governor signed a few Memorandum of Understandings for the purpose.
The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar has signed different Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with four different New Jersey Universities in the areas of research and academic collaborations.
The four new partners of IIT Gandhinagar are:
- New Jersey City University
- New Jersey Institute of Technology
- Rowan University
- Rutgers University.
The Governor of New Jersey Phil Murphy had recently visited India with the motive of building trade and education collaborations. The New Jersey Governor quoted Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. He stated that empowerment of the marginalised and diversity should be the goal that must be achieved.
The Governor stated that to be a stronger society, it is important to include all people i.e. from all races, genders, diversity, religions as well as from the LGBTQ community. Mentioning the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr., he mentioned that exclusion of any people will make the society weak. He pressed on living diversity rather than just talking about diversity.

Speaking on the occasion, Sudhir Jain, the Director of the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, stated that one of the core pillars of the institute’s education policy is globalisation. He said that the partnership that has formed between IIT Gandhinagar and the four New Jersey Public Universities will help the students receive the much-needed exposure.

With the latest inclusion of four New Jersey Public Universities, the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar has been working towards building their relations with various National and International educational institutes in academic as well as research areas.
