IIT Guwahati Ph.D. Admission 2023: For December 2023 PhD admissions, IIT Guwahati had released the application form on October 6, 2023 for which the initial deadline was October 30, 2023. However, post the deadline extension, the application form can now be submitted until 5 PM on November 2, 2023. Interested applicants shall check out the eligibility criteria on this page and if eligible, the direct link to apply is also provided.

IIT Guwahati Ph.D. Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria
As per the eligibility criteria stated by IIT Guwahati, a candidate must either have a Master’s Degree or a Four-Year Bachelor’s Degree in their specified discipline to apply for PhD admissions. In addition, a criterion for Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) or Percentage/Marks is also applicable as follows:
- If a candidate has a Master’s Degree, then he/she must have a CPI of at least 6.0 on a 10-point scale or 60% of marks (if not measured in CPI).
- On the other hand, if a candidate has a Four-Year Bachelor’s Degree, then he/she must have a CPI of 7.0 on a 10-point scale or 70% of marks (if not measured in CPI).
Note: It is important to take note that the eligibility has been relaxed for SC, ST, and PwD candidates by 0.5 CPI or 5% marks. Hence, an SC/ST/PwD candidate having a Master’s Degree must have 5.5 CPI or 55% marks and that with a Bachelor’s Degree must have 6.5 CPI or 65% marks.
