IIT Hyderabad Launches All Course M.Tech Programme, Apply by July 21
The M.Tech programme offered by IIT Hyderabad is a combination of various subjects in a specific specialisation. Students who enrol in these programmes are not entitled to get fellowships. A valid GATE score is also not mandatory for the admission to this programme.
Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) is all set to launch three new all course M.Tech programmes from the upcoming academic session. Last year, the premier institute launched three all course M.Tech programmes. This year, IIT Hyderabad has added three more specialisations to all course M.Tech programme.

IIT Hyderabad offers All Course M.Tech programmes in the following specialisations: -
- Mechanical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Material Science Engineering
- Chemical Science
- Biomedical Engineering
The M.Tech programme offered by IIT Hyderabad is a combination of various subjects in a specific specialisation. For example, students who choose Civil Engineering as specialisation will study structural engineering, geotechnical engineering and environmental & water resource engineering. Unlike the existing two-year programme which is followed by a 14-month research work, the participants can complete the course in three to four semesters.

The fee structure for this M.Tech programme will be higher and ‘Per Credit Based’. Students who enrol in this programme are not entitled to get fellowships. A valid GATE score is also not mandatory for the admission to this programme.
Giving details about the programme, Director of IIT Hyderabad, Mr. U.B. Desai revealed that Indian industries need skilled workforces who are equipped with the latest developments and practices. Therefore, offering all M.Tech course in specific specialisations will meet the demands of the industry. The regular classes are expected to begin from August 2018, he added.

Mr. Desai further explained that the course is not a shortcut to an IIT degree. Students need to take extra courses in place of research besides taking the normal course load. The students will receive an M.Tech degree only after the successful completion of the course.
Interested candidates can submit the online applications through the official website of IIT Hyderabad until July 21, 2018. The selection will be made based on candidate’s performance in a written test and interview.
