With the inclusion of Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IIT Jodhpur) in IIT JAM Admission Committee, the number of JAM admission committee members has increased to 15th from this year.
IIT Delhi is going to conduct the joint admission test for M.Sc. programmes (JAM) on 12th February, 2017 in online mode. In the examination, a total of seven papers will be tested including Biological Sciences, Geology, Biotechnology, and Mathematical Statistics. The examination will be held in three hours for two sessions. The examination will be held in 64 test centres across eight zones for conducting JAM 2017.
Thousands of students are appearing for 1700 seats in IIT JAM 2017 for post- graduate admissions in the 15 participating institutes including Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore.
It is to be noted that last year IIT Madras had conducted the examination for admissions to the PG programmes for a total of 1634 seats across 14 institutes.
The JAM 2017 admission committee yet to release the seat matrix yet. On last 23rd June JAM, 2017 was announced with the official notification mentioning the dates for examination and application form.
The online registration window will open from September 1, 2016, and closes on October 6, 2016. The candidates can fill JAM 2017 application from at that time.
The candidates belonging to the general category will have to pay an application fee of Rs. 1500 while for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD and female candidates it is Rs. 750. If they are appearing two tests papers it is Rs. 2100 .
As per eligibility criteria is concerned candidates from the general category should have at least 55% marks and candidates belonging to C/ST/PwD category should have 50% marks in their respective subjects qualified in bachelor’s degree examination.
Joint admission test (JAM) is conducted across the country for admissions to M.Sc programmes in various institutes including IISc Bangalore.
